How did the semester go? Any comments about budgets, budget cuts, job security or the lack thereof?
Sorry I didn't see this Linda. It seems that I am not receiving any emails from this particular site. How did the round table go? What was discussed?

Thanks for the welcome. I had a good summer--highlights include attending the Winnipeg Folk Festival and a camping trip to the Boundary Waters in Northern Minnesota.
I am excited to be back on campus, working in the Library as adjunct for the next academic year. I am looking forward to some challenges this coming semester: In addition to my library work and teaching, I hope to join the lunch-break choir. I will also be co-facilitating a teaching circle with Linda Russell on the GPS LifePlan.

1. Mid-semester grades are very helpful for students. If you can let students know exactly how they are doing it can help them set goals for the rest of the semester.
2. Some MCTC instructors offered suggestions for questions you might add to the SIR II student evaluations that you may be giving later this semester:
a. What parts of this course would you prefer to cover in more depth?
b. What parts of the course do you believe should be eliminated?

An "ATM" for Books
The Chronicle reported on a move by the University of Michigan to offer all of its out-of-copyright books for $10 per book through an ATM-like printer. Is this a positive move or not? What will become of our libraries? Read and post your opinions.

New Cool Tool?
I stumbled across a tool called IBreadcrumbs. This tool allows a single user or a group of users to compile a list of online resources on a particular research topic. Comments can be added to annotate the link. After completing and saving your search you can then download it as an Excel page to your computer.
