Yolanda Y. Williams Tip of the Week for Instructors (Week 8)

Tip of the Week for Instructors Week 8 1. Mid-semester grades are very helpful for students. If you can let students know exactly how they are doing it can help them set goals for the rest of the semester. 2. Some MCTC instructors offered suggestions for questions you might add to the SIR II student evaluations that you may be giving later this semester: a. What parts of this course would you prefer to cover in more depth? b. What parts of the course do you believe should be eliminated? c. Do y… Continue

I downloaded the software and within five minutes I was able to see some ways to use this within my current courses. It would be great to have stu… Continue

Yolanda Y. Williams Towards a More Global Education

What used to be called "multi-culturalism" has now been expanded and in some ways re-vamped to be called "globalism." I often wonder if this is because the discussion of globalism is more attractive and upbeat or because we, in the United States think we have conquered the problems of equal access and treatment for all Americans. It's difficult to say, though I have noticed far more resources and interest in the globalism than in the issues of racism and bigotry into which discussions of multi-… Continue
